Joseph Anastacio
President
Joseph "Joe" Anastacio is a Public Policy sophomore at the University of California, Riverside, with extensive experience in political communications, grassroots organizing, and youth voter mobilization. He has served as the Communications and Social Media Manager for Rhodesia Ransom's State Assembly campaign, leading digital strategy and messaging efforts. Joseph also plays a key role as Federal Relations Director for the Associated Students of UC Riverside, advocating for student interests at the national level. Previously, he worked with the California Democratic Party to engage young voters and supported the College Democrats of America as Associate Director of Policy. Drawing from his experience as a first-generation American from Stockton, CA, Joseph is committed to empowering underrepresented communities and advancing equitable policy solutions.
Pia Prashanth
Vice President
Pia is a passionate advocate for women's rights, driven by her dedication to creating a more equitable and inclusive world. She serves as the ASUCR Women's Rights and Equity Committee Chair and is the Public Relations Director of Planned Parenthood Generation Action at UCR. Her empathy drives her commitment to uplifting marginalized voices and addressing systemic barriers that impact women and underrepresented groups. Pia's dedication to advocacy is rooted in her belief in the power of community and collective action to inspire meaningful change. Through her work, she strives to empower others and foster equitable environments where everyone can thrive.

I'm a second-year public policy major. I'm a left-leaning independent. I'm an activist for Chicano liberation and the working class, and UC students. In my free time, I like to listen to music, play video games, and watch anime.
Renee Fagan

Hello everyone, I'm Renee Fagan, a fourth-year Political Science major and Theatre, Film, and Digital Production minor student and I'm excited to be this year's Program Director. I have been with UC College Dems for almost three years now and it has been a pleasure getting involved with local politics. This club is a great opportunity to build your social network with like-minded students and the community leaders who make this state great.
Violeti Muavao
Treasurer
Violeti Muavao is a second-year Economics student at the University of California, Riverside, with a passion for both academic excellence and community engagement. She currently serves as Vice President of Recruitment for Sigma Kappa and Treasurer for the Pacific Islander Student Association, where she plays a key role in leadership and fostering connections. Violeti had also contributed to several Democratic campaigns during the recent election, gaining valuable experience in political strategy and community outreach. She works as an events Assistant in the CHASS Marketing & Communications Department, helping to create impactful events and initiatives. With aspirations to earn a Master's Degree in Applied Economics, Violeti is on track to graduate in Spring 2027.
Kaylee Murphy
Communications Director
Kaylee Murphy is a fourth-year Political Science and International Affairs student at the University of California, Riverside. Kaylee was awarded the Minority Serving Institute Research Fellowship which developed her skills in conducting political science research. She is a research assistant on the Transnational Labor Alliance Database Project, documenting labor rights abuses and campaigns. She is a part of the Spring 2025 Cohort for the UC Washington Center Program, hoping to participate in a research internship in Washington D.C. Set to graduate in the Spring of 2025, Kaylee is pursuing her PhD in Political Science, focusing on international policy and human rights.
Samantha Baldelomar
Political Director
Samantha Baldelomar, a native of Riverside, California, is a sophomore-standing, first-year student at the UCR School of Public Policy. She has actively engaged in local politics, working on campaigns for Will Rollins for Congress and Angelo Farooq for State Senate. She is deeply connected to the Riverside Community, interning for SBX Club Division's Lieutenant Governor through their service-oriented Connect program, and previously serving as her former Key Club Divisions Lieutenant Governor. Her exposure to community needs has contributed to her policy areas of interest. Set to graduate in the Spring of 2028, Samantha intends to earn a Master of Public Policy and pursue higher education, to build a career in local government.
